Thanks to the pandemic, I had almost two years to prepare myself before landing in Canada. I thought I had done thorough research and practically knew everything I needed to help me settle down and start a new life in Calgary. But, to be honest, the program Calgary: A New Chapter was an eye-opener and helped me understand in detail various topics which I knew on the surface level prior to my landing.
I am very grateful to be a part of this program and it helped me provide a platform to express myself without any fear of judgement and understand that I am not the only one going through all these emotions of excitement, happiness, anxiety, sadness etc.
I would highly encourage all the newcomers to be a part of this program and help themselves in settling down and gaining friendships that can last for years to come.
As a newcomer, the Calgary: A New Chapter webinars helped me a lot. The session was well organized with all the necessary information a new migrant needs to settle and integrate. Calgary: A New Chapter program is the right place and the right source to get information and advice as a newcomer to Canada. I relocated to Calgary six weeks ago. At the beginning, I tried to get information about life in Calgary from friends, and acquaintances but I received partial or innacurate information. Now, after I attended the Calgary: A New Chapter program, all the information is clear. Calgary: A New Chapter program is the best place for everybody, but especially for newcomers.

Calgary: A New Chapter, this programme is undeniably beneficial for the new comers. I arrived in Calgary on last November. I was literally confused about what could be Calgary to me? Is this city really meant to me to pursue my career? Where should I go to get started with? There were a lot of questions in my head. Then I got a reference about CCIS from one of our friend and I ended up registering with Calgary: A New Chapter online orientation session. It was a perfect start for me to understand the city in detail and I think this is very essential for a new comer.
Moreover, all the topics covered by this programme are mandatory and are greatly useful in many ways for proper living in Calgary. For instance, the topic “You and the Law “presented by the Calgary Police Service, “Banking in Canada” by RBC.I would say that these presentations were an eye opener for me. There were classes lead by Alberta Health services that assisted me to realize the basic procedures to find out the health care services and the benefits of health insurance in Calgary. This programme also covered the Canadian citizenship requirements, Job search strategies, Frauds and scams and finally the Canadian tax system. All the resources were excellent motivators including the Host.
I feel extremely delighted because I found the way to achieve my goal. Calgary: A New Chapter would be my first reference forever. Thank you.

The information given was very important, helping us and advising us about many things that I had never known before. It was a 3 day workshop, but believe me 3 days of continuous information, and very important guests.

The program is very informative and educative, covering all necessary related topics for the settlement of newcomers, starting with the basic needs to everything that may be needed for long term. The program engages skilled trainers from different fields, very optimistic and empowering.
