Post arrival service provided to newcomers to Canada is very helpful to me. I had to spend some time because the program is comprehensive but it is totally worthwhile to do so. I could not have imagined how useful it was. After participating in the program, I am more confident with my new chapter in Calgary. I feel lucky and secure. Thanks CCIS!
I was privileged to attend the 7 workshops hosted by Calgary: A New Chapter and it was very informative and definitely would recommend every new comer to be a part of this workshop as it sets the right path for one to get employment and other useful resources.
I recently relocated to Calgary, Canada, not knowing anything or what to do. I reached out to someone and she advise me to contact CCIS which I did.
I had the opportunity to attend one of their workshops, the Calgary: A New Chapter workshop and I must confess I’m happy I did. The session was well packed with all the necessary information a new migrant needs to settle in smoothly and have a beautiful life in Canada. The program gave me insight into transportation, health, finances & mortgage, food bank, tax, driving license, law enforcement, and last but not the least getting started career-wise in Alberta, Calgary. I strongly recommend this workshop for newcomers.
Furthermore, I want to thank the organisers, the project coordinator, guest speakers and the government for the support they have given newcomers.
I had the chance to attend the Calgary: A New Chapter workshop which was really amazing and informative. I wish I had attended this before so I could have learned where to start. I highly recommend this for everyone who wants to know about what services are provided by the government and also by the organizations all around Canada.
The Calgary: A New Chapter program taught me to get well prepared and look into new life and job opportunities in Canada.
The Calgary: A New Chapter workshop series played a significant role in helping my family and I settle and integrate successfully into Calgary. The topics covered are very relevant to every day life. I would definitely recommend that new comers to Calgary key into the workshop series early on.
For me, Calgary: A New Chapter was very enriching. I learned about the tax system and how this works in Canada. I must say when I got my first job, I was prepared and knew about what exactly has been deducted from my pay.
I learned about when and how to apply to become a citizen of Canada, which is going to be of great help for me in future.
What I loved the most was Job Search Strategies – I actually applied what I learned in my actual job interview and I got the job!
I highly recommend this program and the coordinator has been of great help at all times.
The Calgary: A New Chapter program by CCIS is one of the best ways to obtain first-hand information about the "Calgary-an" way of life and by extension Canada as a whole. It afforded me the opportunity to learn about Health, Law enforcement, Tax and getting started career-wise. I recommend 100% to new immigrants.
Calgary: A New Chapter program is the best place to start even if you arrived a few years ago! A lot of very helpful and useful information!
Furthermore, I want to thank the government of Canada for the support they have given CCIS over the years. They are indeed a blessing and also an investment worth keeping.
